Snapchat is upping its game and partnering with Amazon, going beyond just stories, Snapchat users can soon purchase items in the App.

TechReport reported that Snapchat is currently building a visual product search feature, codenamed “Eagle.”  Eagle will send Snapchat users directly to Amazon’s listing with a visual search feature.

“Press and hold to identify an object, song, barcode, and more! This works by sending data to Amazon.”

Upon scanning the object, or barcode, users can then “See all results at Amazon.” read more

  • There are 1.1 million swipes on tinder.
  • 174,000 users scroll through the Instagram feed.
  • 4 million Snaps are created on Snapchat.
  • 3 million videos are viewed on YouTube.
  • $862,823 is spent online.
  • 18 million text messages are sent.
  • 187 million emails are sent.
  • 38 million Messages are sent.
  • 25,000 GIFs are sent via Messenger.
  • 67 voice-first devices (Amazon Echo, etc.) are shipped.
  • 375,000 apps are downloaded.

    Pew Research Center conducted a study of 2,000 U.S. adults in early 2018.  The study found that YouTube dominates Social Media use, with 73% of all U.S. adults using the platform.  Facebook garnered second place with 68% of Americans using their platform.

    Social Site use by U.S. adults ranks as follows:

    • 73% use YouTube.
    • 68% use Facebook.
    • 35% use Instagram.
    • 29% use Pinterest.
    • 27% use Snapchat.
    • 25% use LinkedIn.
    • 24% use Twitter.

    Among all U.S. adults, Facebook remains the most widely “used” platform.  Nearly three-quarters of the 68% users are using site daily.

    Domo released its fifth annual “Data Never Sleeps 5.0” infographic.  This informative visual provides insight into consumers’ behavior on the internet.

    The infographic details the data generated online every minute on the top applications and platforms.

    The report indicates that 90% of all online data was created in the last 2 years, that is 2.5 quintillion bytes of data per day.

    Pokémon Go daily users have just surpassed Twitter’s 100 million daily active users and users spend more time in the game than they do on Facebook.

    The mobile app has become one of the most viral apps of all time in just under a week.  The app also has 5.92% of the US Android population engaging with the app daily and is the biggest game ever in the United States.  (TechCrunch)

    Snapchat just secured its spot in the Social Media Top 3, surpassing Twitter and lining up right behind Facebook and Instagram (a Facebook owned platform.)

    In just 4 years Snapchat has reached 150 million daily users.  Just 6 months ago Snapchat was reporting 110 million users.

    It took Facebook 5 years to meet this milestone and currently Twitter only has 136 million daily active users.  (Though Twitter does not officially disclose daily active user numbers, they have previously stated that 44% of their 310 million active users monthly use the site daily, which equals 136 million.) read more

    My father was one of those people who could fix almost anything.  Even though he was an executive by day, he was an electrician, plumber and car mechanic by night and on weekends.  One of his “secrets” (that he was happy to share with anyone who would listen) was, “You have to have the right tools for the job.”  His toolbox was a treasure trove of gadgets that fascinated me as a child.
