Understanding How Pins Help Your Business

The Pin is part art and part science.

Pinterest provides statistics on your Pins that give a “quick overview” so you can gauge the success of your efforts on the platform and whether the Pins you are creating are effective.

PIN STATS

Impressions

This is the number of times your Pin was seen on Pinterest.

Closeups

When people tap your Pin to look closer, this means your Pin has caught their eye and they are interested in learning more.  The number of closeups will tell you how many people are interested in your product/service/idea.

Clicks

The holy grail of all Social posts, getting users to click through to your website.  Total clicks will tell you how many people visited your website (if it is hooked to the Pin.)

Saves

You know you have created great content when people Save your Pin.  This means they are interested and want to be able to find your Pin again in the future.

Additionally, every time someone saves your Pin their followers see the Pin too, which boosts the Pin’s impressions.

Saved to These Boards

You can see the board “types” people are saving your Pin to, which can help you determine what your customers are thinking about your Pins.  Additionally, visiting these boards can give you some inspiration for new Pins.
