As I sat on my patio early this morning, I realized that the weather was beginning to cool a bit. And my thoughts turned to boots. Since I always seem to have my phone in my hand, I did a quick Internet search.  I found a website, selling the perfect pair.  They are British “Wellies” and they are expensive.  I decided to check prices on eBay.

As I moved on with my day and the sun got warmer, I forgot all about my early morning foray into boots.  However, eBay and Amazon didn’t forget about me.  When I opened my Facebook page, there were the boots – not just once, but three times.  eBay showed them to me in my News Feed and in the right sidebar – imploring me to “buy now.”  Amazon (they must have been monitoring me and eBay) also invited me to buy the boots through their ad in the right sidebar.boots read more

Social Media Marketing is how marketing is done, and with Facebook fine-tuning its advertising platform and the other Social Networks adding advertising components it is fast becoming the place to advertise as well.

  1. Targeted Product Ads

For businesses selling more than one product the new product ads rolled out in February will help businesses promote many or all of their products across all devices.  Businesses can “showcase more products and people on Facebook can discover more relevant products.”  (Facebook for Business)

There are a few options including allowing businesses to automatically reach people who visited their website or app, ads can also highlight products viewed by people on their website or app, showcasing the best-selling products, and multi-product ads can now be created to highlight benefits of a single product.  For more on these new ads and how to use them see Announcing new Product Ads on Facebook. read more

In August 2013 we were approached by a company that supplied vegetables to residential customers.  The service provides a box of the freshest organic vegetables available. After achieving success in one geographic area, the owner had decided to expand his business to another area.  He had heard that Social Media was the new way of marketing, and decided to try it.

The business owner told us that he had never been on Facebook, did not have an account and didn’t understand it.  In fact, he had not signed up for any of the social sites and barely looked at his computer (other than to track sales).  He hired us to do it all. read more
